Tuscarawas County Metropolitan Sewer District
The Tuscarawas County Metropolitan Sewer District was formed in 1968 by the Tuscarawas County Board of Commissioners under Section 6117 of the Ohio Revised Code. The District was originally formed to address the water and sewer needs of the developing Wilkshire Hills area, but quickly expanded to address water and sewer needs throughout Tuscarawas County. The major period of growth occurred from the mid 1970’s through the late 1980’s and coincided with Federal Environmental Protection Agency’s grant program and other Federal grant and loan programs. Since 1990 our growth has primarily occurred with existing service area and minor expansions of those areas. More recently the TCMSD emphasis has been on renewing facilities that are approaching the end of their useful life. |
